Bombino wrote this song in 2009 when one of his musician friends, Mahamed Sidi, died in the second rebellion in Niger. The war tore families apart, and destroyed property and landscape. Bombino sings that the war resulted when men forgot the true meaning of life. This song is in homage to his lost friend.
